UITS is collaborating with the Office of Procurement Services to conduct expedited reviews for new software and cloud services requests from units. This Software and Services Selection Process (SSSP), ensures that existing IU software and services are fully leveraged whenever possible, that threats to IU data are minimized, and that the unit understands all resulting costs and risk choices before the desired solution is purchased.

Each time the Office of Procurement Services receives a request for software or cloud services, they will notify the IT Community Partnerships team. ITCP will reach out to the requester’s IT professional to ensure he/she is aware of the request. ITCP and the IT professional will the work together as the product undergoes the initial review process. For an overview of the full process, [1] see the Knowledge Base [2] What is the Software and Services Selection Process?
IT professionals may also wish to submit a request for software or services for their unit before initiating a purchase with the Office of Procurement Services. To start the review, simply complete the [3] SSSP form, which will route directly to IT Community Partnerships.
Need more information? Cathy O’Bryan, AVP for Client Services and Support, will present an SSSP information session at the upcoming Statewide IT conference in October. She will provide an overview of the process, and you will have time to ask questions. Additionally, Cathy is available to answer your questions at 812.856.3527 or caobryan@iu.edu.
Brad Wheeler, Vice President for Information Technology, has already shared information about the new review process with all IU Deans and Executive leaders.
