Refer to Data Sharing and Handling tool or the KB article About dedicated file storage services and IT services to see if the platform is already represented and classified.
If you are the application or system technical owner of a new storage platform that will host critical data, please complete the:
- Institutional Data Standards (IDS) Checklist. This is an inventory that identifies the relevant policies and safeguards that must be in place for your new platform or service.
- Submit the checklist using the IDS Checklist Submission Form.
The University Information Policy Officer will then review the submission and work with the relevant Data Steward to classify the data that can be securely stored on the platform, and provide guidance on additional safeguards that must be in place to certify the service for hosting critical data.
