Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Training and Education
At Indiana University, we are committed to protecting patient health information (PHI) per the standards of federal law known as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). All personnel, including volunteers, in an IU HIPAA Affected Area or students in programs in certain health science schools are required to obtain training related to the regulatory obligations under the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules. This training is also recommended for those managing student or employee administrative health data.
Completing this training is required on an annual basis.
