New Data Stewards and Rotating Members of UDMC

Digital Scholarship and Data Management Librarian at IUPUI University Library, has been appointed as the Research (data) Data Steward. Heather has a background in research coordination and more than 15 years of experience in research. In her current position, she collaborates with the Research Integrity Office, HIPAA Privacy Officer, Human Subjects Office, and other administrative units to develop comprehensive guidance for research data management at IU. In addition, she supports researchers in complying with funder and publisher data policies, manages the IUPUI DataWorks data repository, and provides training to faculty, staff, and students on good data practices. Heather has been appointed as a one-year member of the UDMC, effective June 1.

Lead Systems & Project Manager for the Office of Research Compliance, has been appointed as the Research Compliance Data Steward. Marlise recently took on the task of identifying and classifying all data in each of the ORC functional areas. She worked closely with staff in the Office of Research Compliance and Jennifer Adams to complete this work. Marlise is currently spearheading the efforts to integrate this information into the decision making process for system selection, storage, and transmission of university data. As such, the Council supported her recommendation as steward for the new stewardship area covering research compliance data.

Assistant Vice President for Capital Planning and Facilities, has been formally appointed as the Facilities Data Steward.

Data Steward for Financial and Budget data, and Associate Vice President and University Controller, has been appointed as a two-year member of the UDMC, effective June 1.
